The Logistics Development Council (LDC):
1. Purpose and Scope. The Logistics Development Council (LDC) provides executive-level strategic direction and guidance in order to achieve the following vision:
Adaptive, innovative and critical thinking logisticians, across the Joint Logistics Enterprise (JLEnt), who are proficient in planning, managing, and executing effective logistics support to the Joint Force in complex operational and strategic environments. These logisticians are competent across the entire spectrum of the logistics enterprise and are comfortable dealing with uncertainty and emerging concepts, issues, and challenges. At a minimum, these logisticians are competent in four basic areas critical to enabling effective logistics support to the Joint warfighter: Joint logistics planning, Supply chain management, Life cycle systems management, and Defense industrial base optimization.
