About the Joint Logistics Course (JLC)

The JLC is a Joint Staff J4 sponsored course that focuses on planning, executing, and controlling operational-level joint logistics by preparing military and civilians to function in assignments that involve joint logistics planning, interservice and multinational logistics support and joint logistics in a theater of operations. To accomplish this, the JLC integrates component functional skills and knowledge through the study of strategy, doctrine, theory, programs, and processes. The JLC provides the opportunity for students to develop the attributes, perspectives, and insights necessary to manage logistics at the operational level of war, and challenges students to apply joint logistics doctrine in a Joint, Interagency, and/or Multinational context which concludes with a planning exercise (CAPSTONE) to reinforce this knowledge and practice these skills culminating in a IPR-A to a General Officer, Flag Officer, or Senior Executive Service.  The course includes Microsoft Teams webinars, individual Theater Logistics Overview paper, case studies, articles, team briefs, culminating mission analysis CAPSTONE, and includes 17 guest lecturer engagements from combatant commands and agencies.
