John currently serves as the Director of Operations at the Center for Joint & Strategic Logistics (CJSL), where he coordinates and executes essential logistics functions that support the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Sustainment (ASD S) and the Joint Staff Director for Logistics (JS J4). Through strategic collaboration and innovative initiatives, he enhances operational readiness and fosters a culture of excellence within the logistics community.
A retired Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army, John concluded over 25 years of distinguished service in July 2021. He was commissioned in 1999 through the ROTC program at Southwest Texas State University, joining the U.S. Army Transportation Corps. He holds a master’s degree in Supply Chain Management from the University of Kansas and is a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.
His extensive duty assignments include leadership roles in the 403rd Cargo Transfer Company, the 7th Transportation Battalion, the 75th Ranger Regiment, the 4th Sustainment Brigade, and the 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne), among others. He has deployed in support of multiple operations, including Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Inherent Resolve, and Operation Freedom’s Sentinel.
As his last active-duty assignment, John served as the Director for the Joint Logistics Course, further solidifying his expertise and commitment to educating logisticians in military logistics.
